STUDIO POLICY

At Certified Fancy Vocal Studio in Pleasant Grove, Utah, my goal is to create a professional, supportive environment where singers of all levels can grow. These policies ensure clarity, respect for time, and steady progress for every student.

Teacher Responsibilities

I am committed to teaching:

Healthy vocal technique and musicianship
The language of music
Emotional and mental fortitude for performers
Habits of consistent, disciplined practice

Each student’s path is tailored to their goals — whether that’s professional auditions, student productions, or singing for personal joy.

Student & Family Responsibilities

Enrollment in CF Vocal Studio is a commitment to personal growth. Students agree to work toward the highest level of singing and musicianship they are capable of. If life events at home or school affect a student’s learning, please share. This allows me to support the student with sensitivity and flexibility.

Tuition & Payment

Semester lessons run from mid August to end of May and are charged monthly via auto-pay through Fons. The payment is for the time slot on the schedule, not just the lesson itself.
Tuition is billed automatically through Fons.
A $25 late fee applies if payment isn’t received within 5 days.
Timely payment ensures continuation of your reserved lesson time.

Cancellations & Attendance

One make-up credit per semester (Fall: Aug–Dec / Spring: Jan–May).
If you are ill (red throat, fever, or voice loss), please rest. Your health matters more
than pushing through. Self-paced video lessons, ear training, or asynchronous
feedback may be provided as alternatives.
48-hour notice is required for rescheduling.
No-shows and late cancellations are forfeited. Late arrivals receive the remaining
time.
If teacher cancels, a make up will be offered within the next two weeks.

Withdrawal

Withdrawal will require 2 weeks written notice (via email) and full month tuition is

due regardless of when you cancel.

Flex Packages

Flex packages must be used within the stated time frame (typically 6 weeks).
Unused lessons do not roll over.
Package lessons are non-refundable and cannot be extended.
Rescheduling requires 48 hours notice.

Sheet Music & Copyright

Students are responsible for purchasing their own sheet music. PDF sharing is only permitted for public domain or legally licensed materials. The studio complies with copyright law — please support composers and publishers.

Communication

Scheduling, reminders, and billing are managed through Fons.
Text is reserved for emergencies or urgent rescheduling.
Administrative communication should happen during business hours (9 AM–6 PM).
Celebrations are always welcome — share your wins!

Family Discount

Families with more than one student in semester-based lessons receive 10% off concurrent enrollments.
Not valid for Flex Packages or drop-in lessons.

Remote Lesson Requirements (for online students)

To ensure productive online lessons:

A quiet, private space free of background noise
At least 3 feet of standing space visible on camera (torso + head)
Printed sheet music, binder, and pencil for marking
Reliable internet (wired preferred)
External microphone, webcam, and good lighting for clarity
Device for playing backing tracks (Appcompanist, YouTube) through a Bluetooth speaker
